C: In April 4-10 2014, assessments were conducted from La Cruz de Yanyarina to the southern edge of the San Fernando National Reserve, which includes the Punta San Juan Natural Reserve and the San Juan and San Nicolás bays, by covering from the coast up to 8.7 nm in San Fernando, 9.5 nm off San Nicolás Bay, and 4 nm off Tres Hermanas (north of Yanyarina beach). A total of 493,265 individuals were estimated during the coastal bird census, by land and sea. The most abundant species were Inca tern, guanay cormorant, and blue-footed booby; the guanay cormorant (74,300 specimens) was the only species that was forming breeding and roosting subcolonies; its greatest abundance was found within 3 nm off the area between the south of Punta San Juan and Tres Hermanas, with flocks of up to 10,000 specimens. It was estimated that 7,633 Humboldt penguins, 99.6% of which were adults, were found in the Punta San Juan Reserve (4,477 individuals) and in San Juanito (3,113 individuals). Antagonistic migratory species from the northern hemisphere, as well as from the arctic tundra (Stercorarius pomarinus) and the southern hemisphere, from South Georgia Islands (Procellaria aequinoctialis) were found to migrate towards temperate zones in their post-breeding journeys. A total of 3,571 South American fur seals and 6,456 South American sea lions were recorded in Punta San Juan, and 2,084 individuals of the first one and 1,938 of the second one were detected in the San Fernando National Reserve.-
