Prospección del pepino de mar Patallus mollis Selenka, 1868 entre los islotes Tartacae y Lachay, Huacho. Mayo 2012

Abstract

El pepino de mar o ancoco Patallus mollis es una especie que se encuentra en el intermareal rocoso compuesto de rocas compactas agrietadas con partículas de conchuela y arena, a profundidades comprendidas entre 0 y 13 m, entre los islotes Tartacae (11°14´39,21”S) y los de Punta Lachay (11°18’27,4”S). En diciembre 2012, se efectuó la prospección para determinar abundancia, distribución y aspectos biológicos del recurso. La mayor densidad relativa se encontró en el islote Lachay (190 ind./2 m) y biomasa relativa mayor en Tayta Lucho (32.149 g/2 m). La talla media fue de 202 mm de longitud total (LT), 71% de los ejemplares se registraron maduros. La biomasa poblacional fue 51 t y población estimada de 154.456 mil ejemplares. Las condiciones térmicas subsuperficiales del agua de mar variaron de 16,1 a 18,8 °C, el oxígeno disuelto se registró en 4,33 mL/L.

ABSTRACT: The sea cucumber or ancoco Patallus mollis, is a species found in the intertidal rocky area composed of compact rocks cracked with particles of shell and sand, at depths between 0 and 13 m, between the Tartacae islets (11°14’39,21”S) and of Punta Lachay (11°18’27.4”S). In December 2012, prospection was carried out to determine the abundance, distribution and biological aspects of the resource. The highest relative density was found in the Lachay islet (190 ind./2 m) and higher relative biomass in Tayta Lucho (32,149 g/2 m). The average length was 202 mm of total length (LT), 71% of the specimens were recorded mature. The population biomass was 51 t and estimated population of 154,456 thousand individuals. The sub-surface thermal conditions of seawater varied from 16.1 to 18.8 °C, dissolved oxygen was recorded at 4.33 mL/L.
