Se delimitaron seis sectores: a) S1a: Reserva Nacional San Fernando-norte, b) S1b: Reserva Nacional San Fernando-sur, c) S2a: Bahía San Nicolás – San Juanito-norte, d) S2b: Bahía San Nicolás – San Juanito-sur, e) S3: Punta San Juan y, f) S4: Programa Piloto Demostrativo.
T: In the Pilot site San Juan, evaluations were carried out between January and February 2014, applying the stratified sampling design considering zonation strata for the intertidal and strata every five meters of depth for the shallow subtidal. Six sectors were delineated: a) S1a: San Fernando-north National Reserve, b) S1b: San Fernando-south National Reserve, c) S2a: San Nicolás Bay - San Juanito-north, d) S2b: San Nicolás Bay - San Juanito -south, e) S3: Punta San Juan and, f) S4: Pilot Demonstration Program. Three to nine sampling stations were established in each sector. Were identified 300 taxa in the intertidal and 616 in the shallow subtidal. Non-parametric estimators indicate that the species accumulation curve did not meet the asymptotic behavior. In the intertidal environment, the highest values of richness and diversity were presented between the retention and resurgence strata (sandy shores) and between the middle and infralittoral (rocky shores), while in the subtidal it was presented between strata 1 and 2 (0-10 m) (rocky bottoms) and between strata 3 and 4 (10-20 m) (sandy bottoms). The abundant and very abundant species were low in the shores and rocky bottoms, showing that one or two species tend to dominate this type of habitat. The Permanova analysis, considering the effects between sectors by stratum, indicated that there are no significant differences within the studied environments; the effects between strata by sector did present significant differences. Multidimensional management analysis (NMDS) indicated that there are differences in the structure of the communities depending on the sector and the stratum at the intertidal level, in the subtidal these trends do not seem to be marked. The main habitats described in the intertidal are related to rocky platforms, rocky blocks, sandy beaches with broken shells, pebble beaches, boulders and rocky cliffs, the latter being more representative of the southern end of the San Fernando National Reserve, Punta San Juan and the Pilot Demonstration Program, while sand beaches were dominant at the northern end of the San Fernando National Reserve and at San Nicolás - San Juanito Bay. In the subtidal the rocky platforms dominated, rocky blocks, pebble, sand with broken shells and boulder. Submerged rock formations known as “mocheríos” were found between Punta San Juan and the Pilot Demonstration Program. The major structuring organisms in the intertidal were brown macroalgae Macrocystis pyrifera Agardh, 1820; Colpomenia sp. and Dictyota sp., red macroalgae Corallina officinalis Linnaeus, 1758; Rhodymenia sp. and Chondracanthus sp., and green macroalgae Ulva lactuca Linnaeus, 1753; mussels Perumytilus purpuratus (Lamarck, 1819); cirripedes Jehlius cirratus (Darwin, 1854); Balanus laevis Bruguière, 1789, and polychaetes Hemipodia simplex (Grube, 1857); Scolelepis sp., Specimens of the families Capitellidae and Orbinidae. In the subtidal area were brownish macroalgae M. pyrifera, Lessonia trabeculata Villouta and Santelices, 1986 and red Gracilaria sp., Rhodymenia sp. and representatives of the Halymeniacea family; mussels Aulacomya atra (Molina, 1782); cirripedes Balanus laevis, Austromegabalanus sp.; tunicates Pyura chilensis Molina, 1782; and polychaetes Diopatra sp., Glycera sp. and specimens of the family Cirratulidae-
